What you will be part of

Saab Maritime Traffic Management (MTM) serves customers around the globe with advanced solutions that enable the safe and efficient movement of people and goods. MTM operates in the markets for Coastal Surveillance and Vessel Traffic Management systems, Port and Information Management systems and Terminal Operating Systems.


Your role

In this role you will lead and coordinate purchasing activities within the primary processes; Win Business, Execute Business, Product Lifecycle Management and IPC to acquire products in a cost effective and timely manner. You will also process purchase requisitions to purchase orders and request for quotes to suppliers. You are responsible for procurement data and the integrity of it in the procurement-system. You will work as a ‘connector’ between all the different departments and actively approach your colleagues.


Your duties and responsibilities are to:


  • Conducts the procurement and administration of Subcontracts for supplies, services, construction, and research and development in support of government, commercial and international contracts.
  • Performs solicitation and evaluation of vendors; evaluation of subcontract price proposals; negotiation and award of subcontract; and administration and termination/close-out.
  • Reviews contractual documents to ensure adherence to company policy, prime contract specifications and requirements, and conformance to master agreements.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding subcontract obligations and revisions. Initiates documentation to authorize work in accordance with contractual specifications.
  • Plans and implements activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, planning and quality control of production materials.
  • Develops, implements and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures and implement solutions.
  • Ensures the availability of materials in the supply chain.
  • Is responsible for sourcing and supplying products and services, as well as coordinating global procurement efforts.


Your experience and skills:


  • Bachelor degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Industrial Engineering & Management);
  • Purchasing experience in the international technical projects/products/services market;
  • Communicates fluently in Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing;
  • Negotiation skills;
  • Affinity with (maritime) technology;
  • Proactive, communicative and working as a ‘connector’ between all the different departments.
